Accessibility Statement
Pathfinder Accessibility's main goal is to promote accessibility and an inclusive web experience. I am committed to making this website usable by everyone and appreciate feedback if there is something that doesn't work as expected.
Please bear in mind that I am the only person working on this site. I create all the design, content, write and test the code. I endeavour to fix and upgrade areas as soon as possible but there may be a backlog at times. If you encounter a serious blocking issue on the site, please let me know and I will prioritise it.
How you should be able to use this website
I want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. You should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the site by keyboard
- use a screenreader to navigate most of the site
I have also tried to make the website text as simple as possible and with a clear layout.
While my site has been created to be usable in its current form, you might find it beneficial to customise your experience with your device or browser settings, e.g. changing colours or fonts.
You can find advice on how to do this from W3's guide by visiting WAI's Better Web Browsing: Tips for Customizing your Computer. AbilityNet also has further information on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
I am also planning to incorporate some accessibility customisations within this site in the future e.g. colour themes.
Limitations of this site's accessibility
I am designing, coding and testing this site to be accessible, however, you may find some accessibility limitations which I am working to fix. These may include:
- some keyboard navigation is not fully tested yet, therefore there may be areas where this does not work as expected
- I am not a screen reader user, so my testing may not be true to someone who is a regular screen reader user
- most images should have accurate alt text but there is a possibility some have been missed.
All of these things will be tested but please do get in touch if you spot something that has been missed.
Feedback and contact information
If you find anything on the site difficult to use or understand, please let me know by emailing hello@pathfinderaccessibility.com. In your message, include:
- the web address (URL) of the content
- your email address and name
- the issue you have discovered or improvement suggestion you have
- the impact it has, or would have, on your experience
To help me quickly understand your difficulty, please provide as much information as possible in your request. All constructive feedback regarding the accessibility or usability of this website is welcome and will be carefully considered.
What I'm doing to improve accessibility
I am continually working to improve and fix anything which fails to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard. I will be conducting further testing and adding more integrated testing to ensure accessibility going forward.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 16 October 2024. This statement was last updated in Mar 2025.
This website was last (partially) tested in October 2024 against the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. I used findings from this testing when preparing this accessibility statement.
